Potty-training and A Tragic, but funny, event for Nina!

We are making progress. After a difficult beginning with the new puppy, we think that our she is finally learning how to go potty outside. And, she is even learning to go right away (major benefit during the frigid temps last week)! She has lots of fun playing out in the snow lately! Hopefully I can add some pictures of that soon. It's been fun to watch her do full body lunges forward as she tries to get herself above the snow.

We did have a minor tragedy this weekend though. Nina managed to get tangled in the bicycle flower pot I have sitting on the front porch. Well...as she tried to run away from it, it followed her with a clunkity-clunk-clunk. To make matters worse, I didn't have shoes on and I am trying to get the flower pot from her leash, except as I got closer, she would run further and then the flower pot would still be chasing her , only faster. Finally, I got the pot away from her, but she still refused to come near me. After getting Shawn's attention for him to take over, I was able to go in to warm my feet up and Nina was able to recover a bit.

She had visitors coming over to see her! So we were so nice, that she got a bath shortly after that whole incident. Thankfully, she seemed to enjoy the bath though!

Side note...we went to see Marley & Me last night. Boy was that ever a tear jerker! (especially for us with getting a new puppy)

  1. I remember when I got my dog. It was spring, so we didn't have the snow for a while. However, we did have really high weeds at one point and we have the funniest video of him bounding through the weeds trying to "get above" them. (now you see him, now you don't) I can't wait to meet Nina myself. Dogs are such sweet companions. I'm not jealous...
